NURSE AIDE COURSE
Objectives of the course
At the end of 12 weeks, participants:
- Will be well equipped with knowledge, skills and competences to feed, bath and groom
patients thereby contributing enormously to their sense of normalcy and well-being. - Provide more health oriented duties such as measuring and recording vital signs and first
aid care - Provide administrative roles of record keeping that accompany patient care.
- Contribute to the success of the health team locally and internationally.
Programme Fee: US$200.00
Entry Requirements: Minimum of 3 Ordinary Level subjects.
Course duration: 12 weeks. Theory 4 weeks (1 month) and Clinical Placements weeks (2 months)
Class hours: Monday-Friday (0830hours-1630hours)
Venue for Theory: NUST-CCE Town Campus, 55 Jason Moyo/4″ Avenue
Clinical Placements: United Bulawayo Hospitals and Mpio Central Hospital
Uniforms:
Females: Princess style white uniform with black low heeled shoes, brown stockings, navy blue sleeveless or long sleeved jersey with buttons and a nurse’s watch with a second hand.
Males: White safar slacks with long trousers, black shoes, white men’s socks, navy blue sleeveless or long sleeved jersey with buttons and a nurse’s watch with a second hand

Module 3: Home Nursing
Module 4: Maternal and Child Health
Module 5: Clinical Placements
