MAIN PURPOSE

To interpret data and turn it into information which can offer ways to improve the business, thus affecting business decisions by gathering information from various sources and interpret patterns and trends. Support the TV Licences management team with enabling information and reports to maximize revenue collection and customer satisfaction. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Managing of master data, including creation, updates and deletion
  • Defining new Divisional data collection and analysis processes
  • Demonstrable experience in dealing with large data sets and databases
  • Develop clear and well-structured analytical plans and analyzes large data-sets.
  • Develop business solutions through the constant modification of the existing business intelligence solutions.
  • Develop and implement state-of-the-art analytical algorithms for object detection, segmentation, classification, and recognition.
  • Conducts the conversion of data into insights that will lead to informed business decisions.
  • Designs, codes, debugs, tests, documents, and supports server based applications such as SQL consistent with established business requirements and specifications in order to deliver the highest possible value to the business.
  • Provide input with departmental Risk management
  • Adherence to all SABC policies and procedures
  • Create and maintain cross functional communication with internal TV Licence departments

REQUIREMENTS

  • National Diploma (NQF 6) or Degree (NQF 7) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Information Management or Statistics or equivalent
  • Minimum 5-10 years working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst
  • Strong understanding of IT environments, IT security, networking and server architecture
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (SSIS, SSAS and SSRS), databases (SQL and Adabas), programming (Natural Adabas or ETL frameworks)
  • Strong working experience in one or more ERP’s e.g. SAP or Oracle
  • Working experience in Google’s data analytics tools such as Data Fusion, Vertex AI, Big Query, Looker, Data Studio & DataForm and other associated ETL tools
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Review of data, building data sets and perform statistical analysis
  • Analysis of and interpretation of data
  • Presenting findings that communicate trends, patterns and predictions Identify business opportunities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend to general building & office repairs(Plumbing, paving, painting, brick work, laying of tiles and carpets, replace broken glass panes, inspecting the roof)
  • Responsible for  Alterations of  offices(Removal of partitions, installation of partitions and hanging of doors, replacement of ceiling tiles)
  • Inspect building & offices, report major defects to management(Walk around a 5 storey building and another 2 storey building, doing inspections)
  • Responsible for furniture removals and relocation within the building(Dismantle desks, carry desks and other furniture between offices and the workshop)
  • Perform  minor repairs to office furniture(Carry broken furniture to the workshop, repair broken furniture)
  • Housekeeping(Stacking, collecting and disposal of rubble, tidying up of the workplace)

  • To support the department:  PMO, Enterprise Architect and Project Engineering and SAG.
  • Prepare monthly reports and track project delivery progress
  • In time and frequent communication with project managers /customers /vendors to track and inform progress
  • Travel arrangements on time, as per instruction and all relevant information provided to staff member concerned
  • Claims for travelling and accommodation performed in accordance with SABC financial policy
  • Assist HOD with capturing information to provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across all stakeholders.
