Sasol Foundation Bursaries 2023: Financial Aid for Students Interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

Sasol Foundation Bursaries

Sasol is offering Foundation Bursaries for students who are keen on undergoing a full-time study in either an undergraduate degree or diplom in the STEM field.

To encourage bright persons to continue full-time studies towards an undergraduate degree or certificate in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), including Health Science, the Sasol Foundation Bursary Programme grants all-inclusive scholarships to candidates from all over the world.

A South African citizen who has been accepted or has received conditional admission for study at a South African public university or university of technology for the next year may be considered.

Selected persons will be determined by their academic achievement, family income, entrance into a university or a university of technology, as well as their South African citizenship, at the discretion of the Sasol Foundation.

Awardees will be entitled to coverage for these items: tuition expenses, accommodation costs, daily meals, prescribed study materials, and allowance for laptop, calculator, and a monthly stipend.

Requirements

If you’re certain of joining the Sasol Foundation Bursaries, feel free to sign up! If you are still unsure whether you’d make a good fit, don’t worry.

All you have to do is check the requirements below and re-check your qualifications with the selection committee’s standards.

If you’d like to stand a chance of acceptance, make sure you fulfill all of the criteria that are mentioned.

Failure to do so might not get you automatically disqualified, but it could reduce your chances of acceptance.

Who can apply

  • Officially recognized as a citizen of South Africa
  • Must have received admission or preliminary acceptance for studies at a South African university or university of technology in a STEM subject of study that has been authorized by the Sasol Foundation in order to qualify
  • Annual family income must be less than R600 000.00 in order to be eligible
  • Candidates who are financially in need as well as intellectually competitive will be given first consideration in the final selection
  • All subjects must have been completed with a minimum of a 50% grade point average
  • Non-STEM bursaries are available exclusively to eligible children of Sasol workers, Khanyisa/Inzalo shareholders, or applicants from Sasol fence-line villages who meet the other criteria listed above.

Important note: Candidates who will be in Grade 12 this year must submit their Grade 11 (final year end) results in order to be considered.

All other candidates must submit their end-of-year results from the year in which they have finished their studies. The end of the year results must be used to apply for those who are in Grade 12 or who were enrolled in a Higher Learning Institution.
